Biography

When I was a child, my father knew I was headed for the spotlight. All I needed to do was shed a few tears and I could have a day off from school to go skiing. He thought for sure he would see me on the big screen.

In my Junior and Senior year at Hamden High School, I got together with the new Media Director, Candy McGovern, and created two news shows that aired on public access television. It was then that I learned all aspects of television production; from Anchoring and Reporting to Editing the final shows for air.

But it wasn't until college that I found my true love: RADIO

I began my radio career at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven Connecticut at the campus AM Station while interning at the local Top 40, WKCI-FM. From there, I worked with many different formats; from News/Talk to Active Rock and almost everything in between.

During the winter of 2004, I began to branch out from local radio a bit. I joined CRN, International as the voice for the "Hormel Chili Ski Watch". I was heard on more than 40 stations across the United States as well as on the 1-800 Ski Phones for various radio stations and on the web giving regional reports.

CHR WAOA-FM in Melbourne Florida brought me south in May of 2005. No more snow? Ah, that's okay .. look at the palm trees! And the BEACHES! And the warm weather all year 'round! From hosting events at Disney, to giving live reports for the launch of Discovery at the Kennedy Space Center, my time in Central Florida was well spent! A year later, I moved north a bit for to AC WKZY-FM in Gainesville for an opportunity that I just couldn't pass up! I was then part of one of the only all-female morning shows in the nation as the UF Gator Mens Basketball Team wins the National Title. My very first event for KZY was the teams homecoming. Then, the Football Team won a National Title! Back 2 Back National Champions. Oh but wait, there's more! The Mens Basketball Team DOES IT AGAIN! WHAT? I had an incredible time there.

It wasn't until I moved 40 miles north west to beautiful Lake City when I actually witnessed the power of radio! It was at AC WNFB-FM where my partner and I made headlines as we facilitated a community wide effort to support our local (and not so local) Emergency Services Workers as they battled the biggest wildfire in Florida History.

In the latter part of 2007, I decided to trade in my beach umbrella for an ice scraper to help program CHR WAZY-FM in Lafayette Indiana. I was the sole morning show host and reimaged the station. This opportunity gave me the most growth in the radio industry. I was able to host events for Purdue University as well as MANY non-profit organizations including the Greater Lafayette Commerce and the March of Dimes. During this time, I had a feature in each issue of HELEN Magazine, a magazine designed for women. I was also nominated as a Distinguished Woman Under 40 for the 2010 YWCA Salute to Women. Quite an honor!

A wonderful opportunity to move closer to "home" came to me in early 2010. "LIVE with Nolan and Tara" hit the air at AC WEZF-FM Star 92.9 in Burlington, Vermont on March 1st! In September of 2010, I began middays on our CHR Station, Planet 96.7. I've recently moved from Mornings on Star to Afternoons, which allows me to reach out to so many more people!

This community has allowed me to do SO much. I have the priveledge of hosting all of the American Heart Association events in Vermont and New York and I work very closely with the American Cancer Society for their "Relay For Life" and "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" events.

Listen to my shows on Planet 96.7 from 10am-3pm and Star 92.9 from 4pm-7pm weekdays when in the Burlington/Plattsburgh/Montreal area. Take me everywhere you go by listening right here or downloading the Star 92.9 and Planet 96.7 apps for your iPhone and Android!

Everything that I do, each and every day . . from hosting a radio show in the studio to being a Keynote speaker in front of 300 powerful women to welcoming a crowd of hundreds of thousands to an event . . it's all for the COMMUNITY for which I serve.
